30th April 2013: The iMakr Store Grand Opening 

iMakr in London's Clerkenwell Road (no. 79 to be precise) had its Grand Opening spread over two days, such was the interest in attending this hot event - hot because the iMakr Store is billed as the largest shop in the world selling personal and desktop 3D printers, scanners and 3D printed goodies such as filament and objects from an as yet small group of designers.

Anarkik3D's CEO, Ann Marie Shillito, attended and had the privilege of being featured in the 'opening introductions', when the screens covering the windows were dropped and the founder and CEO of iMakr, Sylvain Preumont, introduced Adrian Bowyer of 'RepRap founder' fame, Sam Cervantes (CEO of US based Solidoodle) and Ann Marie to the large group waiting outside for the doors to open. Later Sylvain handed the microphone to Ann Marie to introduce and describe Anarkik3D's haptic 3D modelling software and the Falcon haptic device which were being demo-ed in the downstairs area of the shop.

Anarkik 3D Design package is now set up at iMakr so you can try haptics and Anarkik3D's modelling software. Ask for Artur Pojo as Ann Marie gave him a brief tutoring session on the 30th and 1st May and he will be using the software between other tasks such as demo-ing the range of 3D printers stocked by the store.

iMakr is well worth visiting to both see, get advice and purchase a personal 3D Printer. As the store gets going and settled in there will be plenty more on offer, such as 3D necessities, workshops and courses.
