THE ORDER OF THE DAY...
DAY 1
Introduction: brief overview followed by swift run through in demo mode to show Anarkik 3D Design interface, main menu features and advantages of using a '3D mouse’.
Hands on session: Anarkik 3D Design
- Navigation: getting the feel for interacting/creating in a risk free 3D virtual environment
- Start working through a tutorial: try out all the functions through structured playing and exploring, with individual assiatance
(coffee, tea, bicky break included)
Lunch (and the opportunity to handle 3D printed models and discuss the mornings progress as a group)
Hands on session: continue working through the tutorial
Final session day 1: designing for 3D printing
- the principles of 3D printing
- creating robust models and methods to keep costs down
- saving your files in the right format and scale
- acquiring other models to manipulate/customise (imported e.g. Rhino, freebies, paying for models)
- where and how to access 3D print services
- other likely issues and associated costs.
End day 1: brief overview of day 2 programme: designing for 3D printing
DAY 2
Intro: 9:30 coffee/tea and informal discussion about focus for day 2
Hands on session: start work on your own model, robust enough to be 3D printed
Session 2: designing for 3D printing
(coffee, tea, bicky break included)
Lunch (and the opportunity to discuss the mornings progress with the group)
Hands on session: continue working through the tutorial
Session 3: information and handling 3D printed models
- Materials: plastics, resin, glass, ceramics, metals etc
- Different 3D printing systems: impact on designing
- Where and how to access 3D print services
- Likely issues and associated costs
Session 4: how to price, market and sell your creations including identifying outlets and audience
- Online and off line selling
- How to price your creations
- Identifying the correct markets for your works
- The small tricks on how to sell, market and maximise your exposure
End of 2 Day course: Interactive feedback session: to help you identify the next steps, answer your questions plus give you course material to take away with you.
DAY 3
Intro: 9:30 coffee/tea/lunch as appropriate. We start the day with informal discussions about your requirements for day 3. This day is about hitting the ground running for 3D modelling with Cloud9 and honing your skills using the package and 3D mouse.
Hands on session: you work on your own models
- Individual attention to maximise your knowledge and experience using Cloud9
- Pick up best methods and shortcuts that suit your way of working
- Ways to improve models for 3D printing
- Using Cloud9 with Rhino
Lunch (and the opportunity to discuss the mornings progress with the group)
Session 5: on 3D printing:
- Setting up account(s)
- How to use online services
One to one session: filling in the gaps!
End of 3 Day course: Interactive feedback session: to help you identify the next steps, answer your questions plus give you course material to take away with you.
